Chapter 1: Lily's POV

Walking down the hallway, I tried to hide my face in the hood of my hoodie with my hands tucked into its pocket. 

Of course, that didn’t help in hiding my identity as two girls walked by either of my sides, intentionally hitting me really hard with their shoulders and giggling as they sauntered away. 

I lifted my head when I got to my locker and opened it, tossing a few of my books into it. As I was about to shut my locker, my gaze caught my reflection in the mirror; my amber eyes looked as tired as always but there was something sticky lurching around a few strands of my dark brown hair. I lifted the strands of hair and noticed a ball of chewed gums around it. 

Damn, must be the two girls who hitted me. With my face puckered, I picked my scissors and cut it off my strands. “I can’t wait to graduate from this stupid school.” 

That's something I'd never have said a couple of months back: I had saved a lot of money for so many years in order to be admitted into my dream High school, only to regret it every miserable day of my life. 

I heaved a sigh and turned around, bumping into no one else but Natasha, the meanest being I knew. 

My heart began to race heavily in its cage. I tried to step back but bumped into someone else. I craned my neck and noticed I was surrounded by Natasha’s minions she called friends. 

“Wh-what… do you… want?” My voice croaked on every word. 

“Don’t play dumb now, sweetheart. Remember how you destroyed my previously sweet relationship. Now, you’re out to ruin my relationship with my new hook up guy?” 

“What do you mean?” This girl confused me most times, but deep down, this time, I understood what she meant. Last time her boyfriend had stared at me lustfully, she almost had me expelled from this high school. 

“I swear if you play dumb again, I’ll make you regret it.” She threatened. 

I swallowed audibly and lowered my head in a bow. “I’m sorry. It was never my intention to draw Drex’s attention to me.”

I felt her strong grasp on my shoulder. “Are you that desperate for a man?” She spat at my face. There had been an ongoing rumor that because I was an orphan, I was a slut and was desperate for men’s affection and attention. 

I could feel her fingers digging into my skin and a whimper left my lips. “Kneel before me. Girls, start recording. I’ll make this bitch pay and run away from every man she ever meets.” 

Her friends immediately started recording on their phones while two of them kicked the back of my knee to make me kneel before her. 

“Apologize!” she stood over me menacingly with her fingers crossed over her chest. 

I didn’t waste a chance before bowing my head and uttering multiple apologies again, “I’m sorry, Natasha. I’ll make sure I run away from every boy in this school.” I sniffled, tears slowly streamed down my face. 

“Good. Now you’re not leaving without an embarrassing mark staining your ugly face.” She grabbed my hair to lift me to my feet. 

Ignoring my groaning and cry for help, she pulled me all the way down the hallway and into a different hallway I had never been to before while her friends ran after us to record me. 

She stopped in front of a door and turned to her friends with a glare on her face. “Make the video live, now!” She said and pushed me into the door. 

I was relieved that I was free from her torturous hold, but fear covered me to the brim and I gasped when realization dawned on me that she had pushed me into the boy’s changing room! 

“Hey!” the half-naked boys yelled once they saw me invading their privacy. 

 “What the fuck is wrong with you, freak?” The big jock wrapped a towel quickly before lunging my way. I was so fear-stricken by what just happened that my muscles forbade me to move. In no time, he grabbed me by my arms and pushed me out of the room. I landed on my butt and winced, but the genuine horror was waiting outside for me.

Natasha’s friends and more girls were recording and taking photos of the scene, muttering harsh words against me: 

“Lisa is a creep.” 

“you’re so disgusting.” 

“Are you that desperate for a man?” 

“She seriously went into the boy’s dressing room? She’s more terrible than I thought.” 

 “I had never been to this hallway! I was framed!” I shouted, but even my loudest voice was too little compared to the laughter and mocking of the crowd.

I stood up, trying to stop them from recording, but two taller girls pushed me down again. My feet got sprained and the pain made me stiff.

A second was like a decade for me at that moment. Their laughter and mocking sounds like the devil's scream. 

“You’re going to be trending on TikTok tomorrow!” Natasha exclaimed and her friends laughed. Noticing the proud look of satisfaction on her face, I burst into tears, hating my life and the point of my whole existence.

Wiping the remnant of tears in my eyes away, I got into the bathroom of my tiny dorm room.

My legs felt weak from the incident earlier and the tightness in my chest was still present. 

But I ignored that, tossed myself on the bed and opened my phone. Being lonely and bullied for a long time, reading novels was a big part of my life and my only comfort. 

I need some joy to counteract today’s disaster.

A small smile finally spread my lips apart when I noticed my favorite book has a new update.

The book’s name is 'When Alpha Meets Omega'. It’s a romance novel of how Omega Anna met and fell in love with Alpha Xander.

As I delved deeper into the chapter, my smile slipped off. I figured out that Alpha Xander was deceived by Lisa again. Lisa is the malicious Villainess who disguised herself as the Alpha's mate. In the recent update, the Omega Female Lead, Anna, was deeply hurt. 

I was even angrier and left a comment: "Lisa is such a vicious girl! She’s just like those drama queens in high school. I hope Alpha will see Lisa for who she is and come back to Anna!" 

I tossed my phone aside, still frowning from the thought of Anna being bullied by Lisa. 

With the thought still in my head, I did my necessary chores then retreated to my bed, still fuming over how annoying Lisa was. 

“All I wanted was a happy update but stupid Lisa just had to ruin my mood even more. Why can’t Alpha Xander see her for who she truly is and things can go on smoothly between him and Anna?” 

Since I had no one to talk to, I continued rambling to myself till my body became tired and was clutched in the embrace of sleep.

It’s in my dream.

For some reason, I was in a field of beautiful flowers, sitting on a bench on an extremely beautiful marble porch that was right in front of a perfect view of a beach.

A glowing woman sat beside me. Her grin was warmer than the sunshine that I had an urge to tell her all my thoughts. 

And I did, grumbling about the terrible chapter I read before falling asleep, the terrible life I lived in my high school and my eagerness to escape from this terrible life.

“Lily, my long lost daughter,” Her voice was gentle, and care roamed in her eyes as she said, “I’m the moon goddess and I can grant your wish.” 

….

I let out a loud yawn, stretching. When the lights from the window struck my eyes; I had to quickly shut them back, blinking till I adjusted to its brightness. 

Something was wrong because I was not in my own room.  I looked down realizing my clothes were torn.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by a creepy man that crawled up beside me. He was in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. 

“Hey baby,” he said huskily and leaned closer to pepper my face with kisses, removing the towel from around his waist. 

I screamed and kicked him really hard till he fell from the bed, quickly shielding my naked chest with the duvet. My heart started skipping really hard in my chest. 

“Fuck! What’s gotten into you?” He cussed. 

“Where am I? Who are you? Stay away!” I hollered, trying to catch my breath through my heavy panting. 

“Are you crazy?” he grunted in pain, but my strength was too weak compared to him. He went furious and leaned close to grab my legs.

PAH–

The door burst open, both of us flinched at the loud thud and we stared at the door. 

An extremely handsome young man in a black tuxedo stormed in. He stopped in his tracks, glancing between both of us till his furious gaze landed on me. 

“How dare you cheat on me, Lisa White!” The man growled at me. 

His anger, the look of betrayal on his face, everything merged perfectly and that name…This is the name of the villainess in the novel I was reading, When Alpha Meets Omega!
