"Chloe?" Robert's brows furrowed in shock.

Where could she have seen the name?

He tried to think of possibilities, but his head remained blank.

"You just called me Chloe," she pointed out.

Ahhh, the problem was from him. He sighed inwardly.

"Did I?" Robert asked back, feigning ignorance. "Maybe you heard wrong."

"Really?" Chloe pressed, her voice filled with doubt. She was pretty sure that she heard him call her Chloe just now.

Perhaps Robert was seeing someone else?

That was the most natural thing to think when your husband calls you by another girl's name, especially at a moment like this where he's talking about his love for you.

Robert's nose wrinkled, and he stared at Chloe intently as he prepared to gaslight her. "You're starting to lose your short-term too; don't you think we should go for a proper check-up?"

"Me? I feel just fine."

Robert shrugged slightly. "Or perhaps... have you gone back to taking hard drugs?"
