“You just went to see Chloe?” He said. It sounded more like a statement than a question.

“Have you been following me?” I asked jokingly. “Well, yes, I'm just coming from her workplace,” I confirmed.

“Stop going to see her,” he blurted out, his tone sharp.

I chuckled, confused. “What do you mean?”

“She's already separated from the monster who was treating her badly, so you can let her be now,” Robert declared.

I paused, trying to take in what Robert was trying to say. My goal wasn't just to separate her and Jeffrey; I wanted her for myself.

He had contacted me, saying he knew that I really loved Chloe and that we'd lost contact after school.

“We didn't agree that I'd stop seeing her once she's divorced,” I reminded him. “I said I loved her, and you said you'd help me to be with the woman of my dreams.”

Somehow, he knew that we used to be very close back then. He had said that Chloe wasn't happy in her marriage and that I should help her out.
