I knew who killed Meghan from the moment I heard about it. The modus operandi was all too familiar. Get rid of the victim and use their body to get one or two enemies out of the way.

If that didn’t give it away, the Agent Provocateur box would have revealed who did it.

I was supposed to think Klara was behind it—it was no coincidence that the finger came in an identical box to the one she had sent me the lingerie set in. That was how I knew The Viper planned and executed all of this.

He was in Acron at the same time as Curtis and me. He had been to our room twice during his short visit. The second time he came over, I had yet to throw the box out. There was a chance he knew everything about our visit including the fact that Klara sent a gift to me.

This is why as soon as I snuck into Spider’s house, I announced, “Meghan’s dead.”

“Breaking news.” He mocked. He already knew this, of course.

“Did you do it?” I asked. That was what I was really here to find out.
