Chapter 65

Angela

Something is wrong, but I’m yet to figure out what. It’s three weeks to my wedding but it feels as if the groom isn’t happy to walk down the aisle with me. Although he tries to keep it in, I know something is wrong; something is bothering him and he’s trying hard to keep it from me.

Ignoring the salesperson who is trying so hard to impress me, I focused on the seamstress who is taking McKenzie’s measurements. “I need real diamonds on her dress, at most a hundred and fifty-six.”

“That shouldn’t be a problem, ma’am.” She responded. She took the last measurement before letting Mckenzie go. “We’ll have the diamonds tested in your presence before completing payment.” She puffed her chest out with pride. “Here, we give nothing but the best.”

My phone pinged again for the tenth time within thirty minutes. How did she even get my number? Pursing my lips, I opened my inbox and read yet another message from her.

:- Please, all I’m asking is that you hear me out over dinner or breakfast.
