Misty's Loyalty

Misty hadn't come out all morning, and Eulalia had forgotten about her. She forgot to ask Ms. Hayak or Ms. Jonas to take her away. Eulalia was going to die, but she didn't want Misty to die with her.

"Misty, come here..."

The ragdoll cat, timid by nature, was startled and jumping around at the scent of danger. Hearing Eulalia calling her, Misty turned her head, her big blue eyes wide open. She quickly ran behind Eulalia, shrinking her neck in fear and staring at the door.

Outside, the flames were roaring, and the door had cracked open, letting smoke pour in. Eulalia's throat grew itchier, and she couldn't stop coughing, her eyes watering from the irritation.

Misty looked at her in confusion, sensing her pain. She licked Eulalia's fingers and then suddenly dashed towards the cracking door, scratching at it desperately with her front paws.

Despite her usual timid nature, Misty was now bravely scratching at the collapsing door, looking back at Eulalia as she did.
