Some Regrets

Sarah wasn't exaggerating or bluffing; she had seen Eulalia's medical records before aand had even performed surgery on her this time. No one knew Eulalia's condition better than she did.

Percival's face changed instantly, his hand trembling, his throat bobbing.

"Is her uterus still there?" he asked.

Sarah furrowed her brows, puzzled. Outside of her work, she was usually slow to react. She looked at Percival, clearly not understanding what he meant.

"It's still there," she answered honestly.

"Then why can't she get pregnant? As long as the uterus is there, she should be able to conceive with some care," he argued.

Sarah's expression tightened, and she took a deep breath. "Do you even know what her health is like? If she gets pregnant, she's likely to have a miscarriage. Do you have any idea how damaging that is to a woman's body?"

Even if Eulalia's stomach cancer was cured, her poor health would linger, causing her extreme pain and shortening her lifespan.
