Sofia's POV

Even though I tried not to think about it, I just couldn't stop my mind from going back and forth. I hated that Salvatore would suspect me. I know it isn't easy for a mafia to trust a person, but I was really innocent, I didn't do anything. I didn't steal anything.

After taking my bath and dressing up, I made my way to the window to stare out and appreciate nature. Since I wasn't allowed to go out, I can as well do it indoors from here.

When I heard the knock on the door, my already pounding heartbeat increased. I couldn't breathe properly, and my throat dried up instantly.

When I opened the door and saw Eduardo also, it was over. I could tell since I came into this mansion that he never liked me. But the moment I heard him say that he didn't think I was the one who had stolen the documents, my head flew up to look at him.
