The Prisoner

When we reached the pack house Alaric, and I followed the guards carrying Genesis to the dungeons. We’d decided we would check in with Genesis’s scout while waiting for the big bad wolf himself to wake up.

Walking into the dungeons was almost like walking into another world. It was dark and the smell of mildew assaulted your senses the moment you opened the door. As I stepped into the blackness at the entry to the bellow ground hell hole, I felt my heart skip a beat and my breathing pick up. Everything about it reminded me of that hole. Of my own personal prison for the vast majority of my life.

Alaric was holding the door open and glanced back at me in confusion when I didn’t automatically step through. Leaning closer he lowered his voice, watching me curiously. “Alpha, is everything okay?”
