Fury Blazed Through Her

Walking into the house, the loud chatters made their way into Isabella’s ears as she passed her coat to a servant at the doorway and proceeded further until she got to the large sitting area.

As soon as she appeared, the chatter died down and the two people in the living room turned to face her. It was Gerald and his mother.

Isabella was stunned. Although it was normal for a mother and son to chat and laugh about something, she didn’t think that should have been plausible given the matter on ground.

“You are here,” Mrs. Falon said casually as she took in Isabella’s gaze. “Don’t just stand there, come in and sit anywhere you like.”

Isabella moved her gaze from her mother-in-law to the man she used to love and then back to the woman before taking in the living room in its entirety. Finally, she walked in and found herself an empty sofa to sit on.
