A week of pursuing redemption was draining but worthwhile.

Ashley was barely talking to me so every blessed day I had to think of new thoughtful gestures to apologize for the argument we had. On the other hand, I was on my best behavior at work and at home to show Scarlett that I was capable of change and my apology was real.

I was yet to reap the fruits of both actions, but I held out hope that Ashley would be the first to acknowledge my sincerity from how much effort I’d put into reminding her of why I’d chosen her and only her.
