Somehow, I’d stumbled on the most awkward conversation while walking past Scarlett’s room earlier today. I could've left, but I leaned against the railing and tuned into the conversation, mostly to gather more proof that I was right about her and her mother’s wretched intentions.

But instead, I ended up confused.

When her mother suggested that she meet up with Micheal, I’d expected her to immediately jump at the offer. Especially because he was one of the most eligible bachelors that doubled as a billionaire and women were constantly dying for a chance to meet him. Even Maeve had a fleeting obsession with him before we started fucking.

So, it was completely mind boggling that Scarlett hadn't heard of him before and even after her mother spelt out what he was worth, she still refused to meet with him.
