59: Setting up a blind date

Mom and Alpha Vaughn’s sudden arrival was more of an impromptu decision than one mom agreed to.

From mom’s rant about their honeymoon being cut short, I gathered that they had to halt their plans and head back because he had an impromptu pack matter to attend to, she didn’t give me any details as to what it entailed.

One one hand, I hoped that their arrival would create a much needed buffer between me and the Vaughn brothers and stop me from making any foolish decisions around them. On the other hand, I wasn’t so thrilled that my mom could barge into my room anytime and engage me in unwanted girl talk.

“All of these would look amazingggg on you!” she handed me a bundle of knitted sweaters, and I was truly surprised that she remembered I liked them.

She even got them in all my favorite colors and that completely warmed my heart.

“Thank you mom, they’re really lovely,” I said while admiring how much younger she looked since they returned.
