CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

"I invited him to dinner tonight " Claire told Grace moments later.

Grace looked shocked!

"What!?" She asked.

"Yeah...." Claire nodded.

"Why?!....I mean, is that really okay?" Grace asked. Trying not to sound too affected by what she had just heard, minding her boundaries.

"I don't exactly know why Grace..or if am okay with it..."

"I guess am just trying to give him a chance at least....for Nate's sake "

And for my sake too...

I needed to be sure he wasn't just a monster!....she thought to herself.

Grace stared at her for a moment... She didn't like this at all!

"Fine" She said at last.

"Do you need me to help you prepare?"

"It's fine Grace..you can go home now, I think I got this" Claire gave her a reassuring smile.

"I can sleep over if you want me to.." Grace persisted

"I'll be fine Grace..." Claire said affectionately.
