Chapter Fifty Three

Elaina awoke in a lush green field filled with wild flowers.  Eyes widening she realized that she was laying in the inbetween.  She couldn't help but wonder if this meant that she died when she fell, really there was no other explanation.

"Welcome." Came a deep voice that seemed to be coming from all directions.

Looking around Elaina tried to find the source of the voice.  It seemed that she was alone, but then who had spoken to her?

"It was me." Came the voice again this time sounding much closer.

"Who is me?" Elaina demanded continuing to look around.  "Me, did I die?"

She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer to that question, but it was something she did need to know.  If she had died then that meant that she hadn't fulfilled the prophecy that had been set for her.

"I'm afraid you did die child." Came the voice once more.

Looking straight ahead Elaina spotted a whispy mist that was beginning to take
