Elaina tried her best to bust through the cave wall that was now in place of the portal her friends had gone through, but ended up with nothing more than ripped and bleeding hands.
"No matter how much you do that you won't get anywhere." Rathial laughed beginning to move forward.
Whirling around Elaina prepared for a fight, she was not about to go down easily.
As Rathial approached Elaina lunged towards him pulling her hidden dagger from her shoulder and slashing it towards him. He jumped back allowing Elaina to advance as she flicked the dagger towards Rathial's chest. Dodging he extended his wings as his smile turned into a frown.
"You really are going to be defiant to the very end aren't you?" He asked snapping his fingers.
The two dark warriors that had arrived with Rathial began to advance on Elaina. Moving she flipped over the first one and wrapped an arm around his throat.
Growling she began squeezing. Th
Elaina tumbled out of the air landing hard on her injured back. The sky above was full of clouds and thunder had begun to rumble as lightening streaked across the sky.Gasping Elaina remained in place staring straight ahead as the vision of her parents continued to dancing around in her mind.Closing her eyes she could feel tears threatening to form. She had promised herself and Chase that she absolutely would not cry again and she intended to keep it that way. Forcing them back she tried to think of something else."Elaina!" Chase's voice travelled to her over the sound of thunder as the ground vibrated while footsteps sounded. "Is it really you?"Rolling over Elaina fixed her gaze on the man that was running towards her. "How long this time?" She asked steeling herself for the answer."Only a month." Chase confirmed bending down to help Elaina to her feet."Careful." Elaina hissed as her back screamed in
"CHARISSE!" Elaina screamed as her friend remained motionless and devoid of all color on the ground in front of her. "No, Charisse you can't go. No."Tears were beginning to pour down Elaina's cheeks. Fire balls were still falling from the sky, but she didn't care in the slightest. If they wanted to hit her and kill her they could.Grabbing hold of Charisse Elaina continued to try to shake her awake even though she was beginning to turn cold."Charisse, please stop playing, please. I won't make fun of you ever again, just please wake up." Elaina sobbed pulling Charisse into a hug. "Please.""Elaina!" Came Chase's voice from behind her."GET BACK!" Elaina screamed holding Charisse protectively. "STAY AWAY!"She could feel the odd sensation of being pushed away from her body once more as something within her woke up. The feeling was similar to what happened in the crystal cave.
Elaina didn't know how long she remained in Chase's embrace as she sobbed and mourned the loss of her friend. Samantha and Oliver had already gone out and collected Charisse's body, at least what remained of it and brought it into the bunkard to clean and prepare for a proper send off.The fireball's had stopped falling from the sky leaving behind a hellish glow that blocked out the blue from above. The look of it had reminded Elaina of the sky within her prophethetic dream. It seemed that the end was drawing near and they needed to make a move before it was too late."Sends a chill up your spine doesn't it." Said Chase as he stepped fully out of the bunkard after Elaina.Needing to be active Elaina had decided to go outside and check out all the damage. Many craters had been left in the ground and some of them had pieces of bodies scattered within them. The blood of those killed stained the green grass red making the whole scene lo
A small moan escaped Elaina's mouth as Chase's hands began venturing up her shirt to touch the tender flesh beneath it. Even though she knew that this was not the time or place for anything, she couldn't seem to stop herself from wanting to feel his touch over every inch of her skin.Elaina had spent months denying Chase, pushing him away again and again, she had even insisted that she didn't need companionship or love, but now that she was facing her own possible end she found herself not wanting to die without experiencing the full extent of being loved by someone."Chase...." Elaina gasped pulling her mouth away from Chase's.Chase stared back at her with lust filled eyes as she gave his chest a soft shove."I want to say something." She said now as he attempted to move in for another kiss."What is it?" Chase asked looking slightly curious.Taking a moment to get her thoughts together Elaina remained quiet before taking a deep brea
Loud bangs and the sounds of people yelling woke Elaina from her sleep. Sitting up she placed a hand on Chase's shoulder and immediately began shaking him."What is it?" Chase grumbled trying to turn over."Sounds like we've got trouble." Elaina announced jumping out of bed and quickly throwing her clothes back on. "Lets go."Pulling Chase up Elaina shoved his clothes at him so he could get dressed before they both rushed out of the room and out into the halls that were filled with warriors running around and shouting."What happened?" Elaina asked grabbing one man's arm.Glaring he let out a grunt, "Dark warriors, we are under attack."Nodding Elaina let go and allowed him to continue on his way. It seemed that Rathial was growing impatient by bringing his forces to them.Feeling her adrenaline beginning to pump Elaina left Chase behind as she hurried into the fray determined to get out and fight. Many
Elaina awoke in a lush green field filled with wild flowers. Eyes widening she realized that she was laying in the inbetween. She couldn't help but wonder if this meant that she died when she fell, really there was no other explanation."Welcome." Came a deep voice that seemed to be coming from all directions.Looking around Elaina tried to find the source of the voice. It seemed that she was alone, but then who had spoken to her?"It was me." Came the voice again this time sounding much closer."Who is me?" Elaina demanded continuing to look around. "Me, did I die?"She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer to that question, but it was something she did need to know. If she had died then that meant that she hadn't fulfilled the prophecy that had been set for her."I'm afraid you did die child." Came the voice once more.Looking straight ahead Elaina spotted a whispy mist that was beginning to take
"But first...." Ezra continued snapping Elaina out of her excitement. "I would like to tell you a story.""A story?" Elaina asked confused. Was right now even the time to be telling a story? Her friends and comrades were on the losing end of a war, time was of the essence."Don't worry, they will be fine until I am done." Ezra assured her. "This story is important and one that you need to hear.""Why do I need to hear a story?" Elaina asked not quite understanding. "Will it tell me anything about how to win this war?"Ezra shook his head, "However, it is a story of a young girl who was born with a predestined fate. Even before her birth everything had been decided for her." Ezra began. "Long ago when the world was full of war and despair this girl was born. It was on the day of her birth that the heavens spoke and said that she would be the savior of all mankind. A young child that possessed both
Elaina sat alone beside the well that had shown her what was happening with the war back on earth with her head spinning. She wasn't able to wrap her mine around the fact Ezra had told her that she was a reincarnation born only for the sole purpose of finishing the war and defeating the darkness.Even though Rathial had told her something similar he hadn't mentioned the reincarnation portion of the story. It had left her feeling as if instead of being a person she was simple a tool used to a means of an end."Have you decided whether or not you want to hear how to go back and help them?" Ezra asked after remaining silent long enough for Elaina to process everything."You said that there would be a price to pay if I were to do it right?" Elaina asked quietly. "What is the price.""Your humanity." Ezra admitted. "You may go back, but you will no longer be human.""What do you mean?" Elaina asked feeling her heart squeeze.
