Chapter Twenty Seven

Chase remained stunned his wide eyes still fixed on Elaina.  She sat patiently waiting for everything to settle, already preparing herself for the look of disgust and accusations that would come next.

Slowly his face went from stunned, to confused, before finally settling on disbelief.  

He didn’t speak as he grabbed both of Elaina’s hands tugging her towards him.  Caught off guard Elaina allowed him to hug her for a minute before quickly squirming away.  

Chase looked a little hurt as she righted herself again, being sure to keep a little distance between them.

“You don’t want me to touch you now?” He asked quietly looking away.

Shocked at his words Elaina let out a hysterical giggle.  “I just told you that I possess the blood of the dark and all you’re worried about is me not wanting to be touched?”
