Chapter 10: Palace Galore
Mauve wakes up in a completely white room with her head dizzy from what felt like a fuzzy dream. Her eyes wander around and spot Nicholas at the corner of her bed. Anger immediately spikes, the last thing she remembered was Nicholas injecting her with a cold substance that who knows what for. Before she fumes red and goes ballistic, Nicholas speaks ahead.
“I know you're mad but before you bite my head off, hear me out Mauve. The council leader is about to come in so I suggest you calm down first.” Mauve glowers at him. Soon enough a sharply dressed woman in a similar white ensemble enters the room.

“First in order, The grand coronation will be held 10 days from now. Our majesty will have to undergo training with each of the council leaders. Mauve breathes in the heavenly smell as she takes Nicholas’ hand and hopped on the glass board. She tightened her grip on Nicholas’ hand fearing they would lose balance. “See, not too wobbly at all. Are you alright Mauve?” She realizes she has her eyes closed, both of her hands clinging to his arm for dear life. She opens her eyes and sees Nicholas’ face, his eyes up close glisten just like a blue diamond. “Uh-yeah, I suppose”. Nicholas chuckles and holds her waist in response.

The night approaches and so does the bitter cold seeping through the old barn walls. Mauve wakes up under a pile of warm fluffy comforters that kept her neatly tucked in a bed. Through the glass windows, she realizes that she had been asleep for a few hours since it's dark already. She looks around the room and sees nothing but a chair placed on the edge of the bed and a door leading outside. Mauve rises and tries to jam the window open but fails after a few tries. The loud sound alerts Sephie who was preparing rice porridge for dinner. “Miss, are you alright?” Sephie asks behind the door. It took a moment for Mauve to respond as she pondered whether to yell at Sephie demanding her freedom or just be a decent person. She did not want to be rude since Sephie has been nothing but nice to her since they met.

"Mauve!" Nicholas' eyes and mouth are wide open as he witnesses Mauve five feet off the ground floating in midair. It's almost like gravity no longer applies to Mauve as her hair floats around, so were her tears bursting out of her eyes due to sheer shock. Her scream continues as she struggles to keep her balance steady. "Nicholas help me!" Mauve cries for help. "Grab my hand!" Nicholas extends his hand trying to reach her. Mauve desperately grabs his hand but the more Nicholas tugs her down, the higher she gets. It looks like some force is pulling her back as she tries to go down. "Stop! Let her go, Eliot!" Sephie demands as she enters the room. Her eyes start to emit a subtle bluish glow as she scans Mauve accessing what is happening to her.

Hello! Can't you see me? Hello, I'm here! I'm here! Mauve's heart races in panic as she watches Nicholas and Sephie wave their hands around frantically looking for her. It was almost like Mauve glitch away and vanished in an instant. One moment she was smiling to Sephie then her physical self disappeared into thin air. What made the situation extremely frustrating for Mauve is the fact that she can see and hear Both Nicholas and Sephie who are frantically searching every inch of the barn trying to look for her.
