Chapter Twenty One

"Mr Warner, I didn't see you there," I almost screamed when I turned around and saw him behind me, staring at me intensely.

"I trust whatever was wrong with Ruby has been resolved and Alexander won't be making more appearances," He said without blinking an eyelid.

Honestly the last person I expected to see today was Mr Warner and that was at twelve o'clock when he had a meeting with some group of women from a shelter. Not now, not when I just got my hot chocolate and was about to gulp it down.

He took a step closer to me and I took one back.

"Ruby is okay now and I'm sure he wouldn't, Mr Castor doesn't even care about me," I lied through my teeth but if he believed it then that was okay.

Another step closer. Another step back.

"Perhaps we can meet in my office later, some of the figures from the last meeting doesn't make sense and I need your help because it's your notes."

My back was almost at the counter at this point and honestly, I haven't felt that amount of fear before.
