47. Choose Me

Destiny

"Where are we going?" I asked as Alpha Aldric kept going deeper into the woods.

"Somewhere safe," he said vaguely and kept moving.

I sighed and followed him. But after walking for hours, I couldn't do it anymore, so I sat down under a tree.

"What are you doing?" Alpha Aldric turned to me and barked.

I looked up at Alpha Aldric, frustration bubbling within me. "I can't keep going like this. We've been walking for hours, and you still won't tell me where we're going. I need to know what's happening."

Alpha Aldric's piercing gaze bore into mine, and for a moment, I saw a flicker of hesitation. But then, his expression hardened, and he spoke with an air of authority, "There are things you don't understand, and for now, it's better that way. We are going to be pursued, and I can't risk anyone finding out about our destination."

"But I am tired," I whine.
