CHAPTER TWENTY THREE (Heavy Heart)

The day was long gone, and my mind was still wandering around yesterday’s events. I sat on my office desk, absent-mindedly taping my fingers on the table. I was lost in thought, it started from the scowling eyes of my dad, to the parrot like mouth of Catherine and the provocative figure of Helen. Everything was annoying today, I have not even had breakfast because my cook was just too scared to asked what i care for seeing my face this morning.

What really got me annoyed is the blunt refusal of Helen, she was just too much of herself. She had nothing, absolutely nothing to get herself off that awful situation, but still relent from grabbing a generous offer i gave her. I exhale and rub my hand on my forehead trying to think of something new what will hasten up my plan of getting married in two weeks.

If she had gone through the document and decided to accept my offer she would have been here by now, it's 12pm already. To think of, considering my dad’s approach nearly got me si
