MARK'S POV

"Mum, I told you I'm not interested in that girl" I whispered into the phone, as I walked through the automated door at the end of the hallway that would lead to my office, "And she's clearly into someone else, I don't want to be a bad guy."

I sighed when I heard the sound of my mother's voice get progressively louder and more shrill on the other side of the line. " We don't have time, Mark! Your cousin is already engaged"

" To a girl whose sole aim is to ruin him" I mumbled as I unlocked the door to my dark office, which I bare use."Besides, it's just an engagement. Not like they are married yet, I can always find someone and marry immediately."

My words were interrupted by my mother's scream again,"That's what you've been saying ever since you went to that blind date! Did that girl bewitch you?"

" Mum" I tried to explain calmly. " I will get a girl sooner than you think "

" You better do. Or else you are marrying whoever I pick!" With that she ended the call.
