Chapter Twenty One

Karla's POV

The tension in the Dress Shop was so heavy you could cut it with a knife. I watched as Valeria stared down the woman who had looked down on us from the moment we arrived at this pack. She blamed my daughter for what Kamilla did. In the end was her own child's jealousy that led to her actions. Valeria was never the type to be bullied and sit back. Now that I had my daughter back on good terms with me, I didn't want to do anything to screw it up. I had made such a mess of our lives, I didn't know what was safe to say with her. I had fucked our lives up with my actions, and then with the drinking. The hell I put her through, I'd be absolutely stunned if my children ever forgave me. Now I stood here, unable to open my mouth to put in a word in my child's defense as this woman looked down her nose at my daughter, and soon to be Luna of this pack.
