Chapter Sixty-Six

Eric really regret coming to the charity event tonight, just like he knew he would. But he felt like he didn’t have much of a choice. The event was held in his company’s name, and his mother had made it clear that she would disown him if he didn’t show up. Reluctantly, he found himself standing beside his mother, forced to greet the arriving guests.

As he stood there, Eric couldn’t help but feel relieved they had only allocated a small amount of time for this ordeal. If people ran late, well, that was their problem. All he really wanted was a stiff drink to help him forget about the insufferable week he had endured.
