RajRoshni was busy staring into space by the window as usual when I got back from work and walked into our room. She didn't notice my entrance so I took advantage of that and strolled towards her, but not before dropping my briefcase on the bed. I back hugged her and inhaled her intoxicating scent. The same scent I was mesmerized with. I swept her hair to the side of her neck and met my lips with the smooth flawless skin of her neck. "Sunshine." I called. "Welcome back home," she turned around from her sitting position and smiled at me. It was unbelievable Roshni was finally going back to her old self and I couldn't be happier. "Thank you... What's on your mind apart from me?" I asked, teasingly. "Nothing... Really." She added as she noticed I wasn't buying her lie. I decided to let it go to avoid reminder... "Let's go on a date tonight," I proposed. I thought it'd be a good way to clear our mind of things happening completely. I believed it would make Roshni carefree even for th
Raj"I see but-" Roshni began but cut herself off all of a sudden. "-Sam?" Sam? I instantly averted my gaze to where Roshni's was and my eyes grew wide in surprise. I was elated to see my baby sister after so many days. She was talking to a random guy when I made to approach her. I let go of Roshni's hand and hurried towards Sam. She didn't notice me. "Sam..." I trailed off calling her name. Her gaze darted to me then she began to walk away in a hurry. "Sam!" I called again and hurried after her and grabbed her arm. She turned around in fury."What? What do you want from me? Let me go!" She yelled. Instead of doing as she wanted because I was really to be blamed for her leaving the house, I drew her into my embrace. I missed her immensely. My only sister. "Let me go Raj... Please let me go," she cried and tried to push me away but my grip around her only got tighter. I ignored her request. "I am sorry... I'm very sorry," I apologized from the bottom of my heart. I just hoped s
RajWe walked into the house and met mom and dad in the living room watching a movie together. They were very surprised, but happy to see Sam again. Dad walked over to her and engulfed her in his embrace. "We're so sorry, baby," dad pulled back and kissed her forehead. "No dad... I should be the one apologizing for all I did in the past," Sam answered. "Everything you did was in the past and we already forgave you, but accusing you of having a hand in Roshni's kidnap is outrageous. Uncalled for," dad spoke. "- we are so happy to have you back." "Thanks, dad," Sam replied. I smiled staring intently at the both of them reuniting. It was a sight to witness. My gaze darted to mom. She was just standing in her spot not looking remorseful for the false accusation on Sam. I went over to her and encouraged her to speak to Sam which she did. She went and stood in front of Sam."So you've decided to come home?" Mom asked. Oh! I expected her to be nice but mom, she's unpredictable at times
Third personSam knew she would sleep peacefully that night, knowing her family has forgiven her and everything was resolved amongst them, but one thing that saddened her was; Samar being behind bars. She wondered how he was coping there, how they were treating him, if they fed him and so many similar thoughts. She didn't want him to suffer for he regretted his action and even surrendered himself to the police willingly. With the thoughts still on her mind, she turned to her side and slept off, hugging her pillow to her chest. She awoke very early the next morning - even before the maids and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone. She wanted them to be impressed by her and most importantly, make up for all the evil and awful deeds she had committed in the past against Roshni. Sam felt extremely bad Roshni had to defy the semester because she missed a lot of tests and even some examinations and it was all because of her. She missed a lot of her continuous assessments
ROSHNIWhat happened the past few days really took a toll on me. I lost my baby. The baby I nurtured inside me for months and grew to love with all of my being, unconditionally. The baby was taken away from us in a painful manner. I stared into space on daily basis just thinking about how the baby would have looked if it didn't die. Who the baby would have looked like and whose personality he'd have taken after. I was slowly losing sanity, but Raj helped me. He helped me accept the loss. I knew Raj was equally as affected as I was. He was going through the same pain, but appeared strong in my presence to be able to console me. If he could do that for me, why couldn't I do the same for him? Why couldn't I let go the tragedy that befell us and give my husband the happiness he deserved? Those were the questions that drove me to break loose from my depression. Raj was suffering as well - I knew and that was the last thing I wanted. He was my only source of happiness in the house. I snugg
THIRD PERSONSam couldn't stand not seeing Samar for so long. She was worried about him - how he was coping in the station. She decided to pay him a visit to know and see for herself."Thank you so much for coming to see me, Sam. It means a lot," Samar appreciated immediately he saw Sam. He was truly grateful she had not forgotten about him and was visiting him. He was contented with the fact alone. He was contented as long as she cared for him. He was willing to pay the price for his crime and leave afterwards with a clean soul and heart. He would finally be freed from his conscience. "You don't have to thank me each time I come to visit -" she smiled. "- besides, I wanted to see you." Samar felt a huge burden being lifted from his chest at her last statement. She wanted to see him! Freely and not obligated. "I missed you." He blurted out absentmindedly. "I kind of did too," Sam admitted. "- how are you?" "I'm fine," he replied curtly. "Are you sure?" Sam inquired. She wanted hi
THIRD PERSONOn arrival to Malika's house, Sam alighted from the car fuming. She pounded on the door aggressively with her fists. "Who the hell is that?" Came Malika's voice from within which Sam found annoying. Instead of giving her a reply at least, she continued banging on the door even harder. Malika opened the door and was very surprised to see Sam in her house after everything she did to her. Her eyes were literally bulging out of their sockets. She had a horrific look on, but quickly restored it with the confident look she always carried and glared at Sam. "...and what the hell are you doing here?" She asked."I came to give you this -" she connected her palm to her cheek in a resounding slap. "- that's for deceiving me." Malika gritted her teeth in fury and attempted to retaliate, but Sam was quick to stop her by catching her hand in the air before it could connect with her face. "How dare you! Did you just-" "Yes I did and I will do it again! If you think I'm afraid of y
Roshni "I think I might be pregnant," I blurted out and instantly wished I could retrieve my statement. I didn't know what drove me to tell him that, perhaps it was the hope I had. Momentarily, Raj didn't speak. He just kept on gazing at me. "You're pregnant?" He asked, slowly, like he was doubting me or something. "I think so," I replied, looking everywhere but his face. "When... I mean what drove you to this conclusion?" He asked. "I just -" "Wait here, I will go get some pregnancy test and be right back," Raj said. Despite how unsure he seemed, I caught a glint of hope and happiness in his eyes. "But Raj -" I attempted to stop him for I was scared of what the result might turn out to be. I was scared of seeing disappointment on Raj's face. I just hoped and prayed it was indeed true. "No excuses, I will be right back," he said and scampered out. What have I done! What if the test results come out negative? I shouldn't have blurted that out. I made a huge mistake. Few minut
