Chapter Forty

Third person

Sam had morning classes, so she left home for school very early in the morning. She was very happy and positive Rajveer would choose their mum over his wife.

She emerged from the class after lecture with her friend, Malika.

"Wow Sam! You did great, but if I were you, I would have done worse," Malika commented, after Sam had narrated everything she did to Roshni to her. Malika and Sam had been friends since their first year and they were obviously birds of the same feathers.

"What I did was enough, I can't and won't do worse." Sam laughed and Malika narrowed her eyes at her.

"What if your brother chooses his wife over your mother?" Malika asked.

"I'm confident he won't do that. It's impossible." Sam said optimistically.

"What if-"

"What if everything goes my way? Be optimistic, Malika," Sam glared at her.

"Fine, but I still think-" she didn't get to finish her statement, because Sam cut her off her again.
