Chapter 3

“How does it taste?” Chly asked while I am chewing the grilled bangus. He’s looking intently at me, or maybe on my mouth that’s currently chewing.

“Hmm,” I just hummed because I couldn’t say a word. After I finished chewing, I took another slice of bangus and ate it.

He really cooks so well. Without hard training in our company, I don’t think I would have this body. For sure, I will gain weight because honestly, I really couldn’t stop myself from eating the foods he cooked by himself.

“I will really look ugly with this,” I stated as I take grilled pork from the plate.

His brows furrowed. “Why?” he asked, confusion is visible in his tone.

“Because I will get fat, and it’s because you cook yummy dishes!”

I am not saying that being fat makes people look ugly. I am pertaining only to myself. I feel like being fat doesn’t suit me. I even became envious with those chubby and cute men and women on social media that still looks good with it, well; everyone really looks good with their own sizes. And maybe the size that suits me is this.

Or maybe I haven’t seen myself with that size before that’s why I couldn’t picture myself out with it, and makes me think that I am ugly with that size.

“No!” he disagreed immediately and his brows furrowed even more. “I will really like it because it symbolizes how fond you are with my cooking skills, and you would still look good even if you’re fat, baby. Everyone does.”

I just chuckled and shook my head. After that, I brought my gaze back to the food in front of me and started eating. I just stopped when I realized that Chly haven’t started eating yet. With it, I lifted my gaze and game him a questioning look.

“What? Why aren’t you eating? You should try your dishes. These are amazing!”

“Are you thinking that you will be ugly if you gain weight?” he asked.

“I won’t gain weight, Chly, this is how my body really looks even before. Plus, I am doing hard workout slash training-”

“Do you think you will look ugly if you gain weight?” he asked again.

I sighed. “Yes,” I confessed.

“No, you won’t. I don’t think that sizes will affect your appearance, but if ever it will, it will make you even prettier.”

“Even if I became too skinny?”

“Yes, baby,” he answered with no doubt.

I don’t know if he’s just playing or he really meant what he said, but his mouth is really sweet that I don’t even care if those were true. The important thing here is, he boosted my confidence.

After our dinner, we both washed our dishes and cleaned some dirty spots. After that, we just went upstairs and watch movie together.

I actually can’t see myself being with any man than Chly. I even think that if Chly wasn’t born, I would be single until my death because there’s no other man that would make me fall this hard.

We share a lot in common, he has a great, positive impact for me, and I hope I also do to him.

I don’t know how I will manage to survive after that tragic incident. I don’t know if I would still be able to reach this far if he wasn’t on my side during those hard times. In fact, I don’t even know if would still be in this world if he doesn’t exist.

But maybe, I would still live in this world even without him because I am eager to serve justice to my parents’ death. After all, that’s the only reason why I am in the same company and organization where my parents used to work.

If only they didn’t die, I am probably an architect now. However, my love for them towered over my passion that even if not entering college means losing the chance to pursue my goal, I still did it. Instead of entering college, I entered the organization they used to work to gain information about their killer and serve them the justice they deserve.

They loved me too much that even if they are one of the busiest people in the world, they were still able to be there for me whenever I need them, they were still able to make me feel their presence and that makes me happy. I may have made them feel happy too, but I know that it wasn’t enough, that’s why I am doing this.

I hope in this way, I can make them happy and proud of me too, because I am proud of them. It’s just hurtful to think that they’re not here anymore. They should’ve been so happy for me… for us. We should’ve celebrated this together.

I sighed and got up from bed. Chly made our dinner yesterday so I planned to make our breakfast today.

I opened the blinds slightly and realized that the sun is still rising. Chly is still sleeping tightly, so I just moved carefully and slowly so I wouldn’t disturb him. I then walked directly towards the kitchen to prepare our breakfast.

I am still sleepy so I decided to make a coffee first before cooking so there’s something I could sip on while making our breakfasts. I just made fried rice with our left over rice from yesterday, bacon, and hotdogs. I also made salad in just the exact and right amount that we could finish so we wouldn’t have any wastes.

Just when I finished preparing salad, I heard footsteps from behind. Later on, I felt him hugged me from behind. “These looks delicious,” Chly said with his still-sleepy voice close to my ear and it tickles me!

“It should taste delicious too,” I said and chuckled.

“It surely will.”

I just shook my head and take the plates where I put the foods so I could bring it to the table on the patio. Chly also helped me and brought the remaining plates and utensils.

“Did you finish the movie?” he asked when he sat down in front of me.

“No, I did not. I’ve fallen asleep when the movie was about in the middle, I guess?” I said, reluctant about what I said. “How about you? Did you finish it?”

He shook his head because he couldn’t talk. He is still chewing. He then took a sip of water before talking again. “Do you have something you want to do today? If none, we can watch it later after we finish the chores,” he suggested.

I immediately agreed because I haven’t thought of anything we could do today. Plus, with the gloomy and windy weather, I guess watching movie inside the house is a great thing to do.

After we washed our dishes and cleaned up the house, just like what we have planned, we watch the movie we failed to finish last night. And because we don’t know what to do after it and we haven’t taken a bat yet since the morning, we decided to lave on the heavy pouring rain until it stopped.

Good thing that on the next following days, the sky is clear so we were able to enjoy the view from here and take our time on the pool, and sometimes, on the sea in front. On our fourth day, we did island hopping with the locals there. On our fifth day, we just remained in the house to relax and ready ourselves for our trip tomorrow because we are going home already.

I may have mentioned that the life here is so slow, but now, I feel like it has flown so fast. I didn’t even notice that today is our last day here and it kind of makes me sad. But, at least I get to try to stay here for a while and have a fun that I can’t always experience.

Before my wedding, I filed a 2 week vacation and luckily, my boss signed it. At first, I couldn’t even process it fully because he just signed it directly. But the, he did it! Now that we are already home, I don’t know what things I should do anymore to ease the possible boredom I will encounter.

Chly also started going to work because he can’t leave it for too long. He has to keep his eye on the company, not just because it’s his business and it keeps him going, but because it is one of the precious things that his parents have left for him.

I watch Chly’s car drive away as it slowly became smaller from my sight until it fully vanished. I remained like it for like a minute before entering the house and decided to get ready because I am going somewhere.

“Will you eat here for lunch, Madam?” the maid asks when I went down and she saw me being dressed differently from my usual outfit whenever I am only at the house.

I think for a second before answering her. “No, just cook foods that are enough for you here. Don’t include me,” I answered. She then nodded and excused herself after.

Before heading straight towards the cemetery, I drove towards the nearest drive thru and bought some snacks and foods for lunch. I also bought some foods and baskets of flowers to offer to them.

“Hi!” I cheerfully greeted them and sat on the ground that I just covered with a blanket. I then placed the foods and then put the flowers beside their tombs. Also, I put a box of foods for each of them and opened mine also. “Let’s take lunch together,” I said before started eating.
