Chapter 6

I couldn’t count how long I have been sitting in front of their tombs and eating my lunch. All I know is that, the ray of the sunlight already passed by the tree I am hiding to protect myself from the scorching heat of the sun.

I just laughed when I realized that I am holding my breath as I look up. I don’t even know why I am doing that until I looked down again and noticed a tickle on my face. I groped that part and touched a liquid. That’s when it drowned on me that I’ve been shedding tears.

I inhaled an air and pressed my lips together as I bring back my gaze to the tomb in front of me. My right hand spontaneously lifted and touched my father’s tomb. I suddenly remembered how hard he tried to stop himself from letting me go with them, but in the end, he still asked Mamà about it.

I don’t have any regrets of going with them here in the Philippines. By it, I was still able to spend time with them. I wonder… if they didn’t bring me with them, how would I be? Will I be able to move on
