Chapter Seventy

~ Zora

Eventually, the time had come for the wedding celebrations to come to a close so people who came in from other packs could go home. Despite the rift between us, Nox held my hand and together we entered the wedding hall as one.

I managed to paint on a smile as many clapped, cheered and threw flower petals on us. Some people approached and shook our hands, giving us their best wishes before leaving.

We stayed like this for a while attending to different people at the same time. Sometimes, Nox and I did it as one. Someone, we did it separately.

At some point, Hailey approached me and with a gentle tap on my shoulder, she drew my attention to her.

Without saying a word, she shifted to the side and half turned so I could see our parents standing in a corner, looking our way. My father, large and wide, had his arm wrapped around my mother’s thin and frail body.

Good on you Zora. You Are the better person! I’m so glad that at least her sister is good like her and loves her so that Zora still has someone of her blood around her and on her side.
