WHAT IS MY MISSION

Avery's POV

I roll on the bed waiting for Nicholas to come for the letter. I had thought hard on what to write to my father. I didn't know what to say because one paper wouldn't be enough to say what I want.

Even a book would not do. However, I ask him how's feeling, about his health and everyone over there. Then I end it with a I miss you.

I truly miss them. You can never know how much you'd miss your close ones until you get separated from them.

By then it would be too late, just like it was now.

I am perusing the letter when Nicholas knocks on my door. He retrieves the letter from me and looks at me suspiciously.

As if he doesn't trust me. Maybe he thinks I'd do something rash. I am not so stupid. He opens the letter and reads it.

I see his eyes flip over every line. It's like he's searching for something. Something little that would give me away. I am grateful for the opportunity he gave me to do this. His father would be angry if he ever got to know.
