I wrapped my arms around myself as I began to walk down the road alone.

Derek’s house was just a block from here and I was sure that I would make it. It was only evening now and I had to admit that it had been a long day.

This day was full of surprises and disappointments and to top it all off, I had lost the flash drive, my only hope was that it was either at home, In Jared’s apartment, at the hospital, or worse; somewhere in the alley. I shuddered at the thought. I couldn’t lose that flash drive. With my mother in the hospital and Jared acting like a total jerk, those were my only means of finding out anything.
