CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR

Mrs Wabua's heart was leaden with sorrow. After Esther's disappearance, her only son, Amon, was put in jail because he was suspected of kidnap and murder. Richard, who'd raised Esther as his daughter, had learnt that he had an interest in marrying Esther but the latter loved him like a brother. In trying to seek Justice, Richard sent an innocent man to jail. In two days, he would be sentenced to death by hanging because he had no witness and all the evidence pointed to him.

She was convinced that Queen was a different person because she spoke fluent English and seemed very polished. Why wouldn't she? All this time, Simon had been tutoring her. She has radically changed and transformed into a 'queen' and the name suits her absolutely.

"Ma'am come and sit." Esther encouraged her and she sat along with them but a feeling of mortification mounted up in her.<
