What? Who’s courting whom?

I kept all my questions to myself. I eyed them cautiously as they were both whispering things to each other while seated on the couch. I was brewing my coffee in the kitchen, and I couldn’t eavesdrop on their conversation.

They were so close to each other. Lucas’ hand was on Erin’s waist while his lips were on her ears, whispering things. Erin looks flushed and annoyed at the same time. I shut my eyes and shook my head.

I’m not used to seeing Erin this way. I've grown accustomed to seeing her with a motherly instinct for the entire time I've known her. Yes, she’s pretty, but she’s aloof when it comes to guys. There were times when I needed to fix her up on some blind date, but she showed no interest.
