Chapter 5: Fighting in an empty alley

From the time I was ten years old, a scuffle with people created a large wound on the back of my neck. After that, my father forced me to go to Karatedo school. I didn't study very hard, but I was more than capable of protecting myself. I didn't have the strength to fight many people, but Serena alone, I had the strength to hit her.

"Can you be less crazy? I said I wouldn't fall in love with Charles. Why are you targeting me? This is the last time I forgive you because you used to be my roommate. If you still give me trouble, I wouldn't let you go easy as today."

I pushed Serena away and walked away. Going to school and then working, life was so busy that I quickly forgot about Charles. I'm just a normal student like any other student.

Until one day, I got into trouble. That day, I came home from work. It was late at night, and the streets were packed with people. I walked into an empty alley to my dorm faster. In a small alley, some thugs blocked my way home.

"Hi, baby. Would you like to hang out with us?"

The end of the alley is the main road. I spun around and ran out. If I could get out of the empty alley, they wouldn't be able to attack me. I had just turned around before I could run when someone kicked me hard in the stomach.

"You still want to run?"

The one who just hit me was Serena.

"Damned. I said I had nothing to do with him. Why are you giving me trouble?"

"I asked you to quit your job at the coffee shop, but you disagreed. What happened today is that you forced me."

She wanted to hit me the other day, but she couldn't do it. Did she go with five people today is want to beat me to death? Five boys I may not be able to hit. But a Serena, I can control.

Trying to take the pain in my stomach, I rushed over to grab Serena. I grabbed her hair, slammed her head against the wall, and ran away. They were more worried about her safety than beating me. They worry about her. But Serena wasn't about to let go of me.

"Quickly catch her. Today I was bound to break her hand."

My period just arrived in the morning, which made me extremely uncomfortable. I'd been kicked in the stomach by Seren, the doubling pain made me run hard every step of the way. With just a few more steps I can run out of this alley, but at the last minute, it was still not in time. A man grabbed my hair and pulled me backward causing me to fall on my back.

If I get caught by them, my ending won't be good. I panicked and huddled up with my hands to protect my face.

Serena won't spare me. Will she let them beat me? But I didn't feel anything for a long time when I opened my eyes to see Charles, Brian, and Alan standing in front of me.

Brian's father was a mafia, and the others didn't dare to move forward. Serena had just seen Charles run away. Charles held out his hand to help me up, but I resisted.

If it weren't for him saying he liked me. Serena wouldn't have gone mad. At first, she used the money to kick me out, but it didn't work. Then she let someone hit me. I'm tired of both Charles and Serena. I don't want any relationship with them.

Charles hugs me. He picked me up.

"I'll take you back to the dorm."

"Charles, I said that you still don't understand. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have come to this point?"

I pushed Charles away. My whole body fell to the ground. I struggled to get up. Charles pushed me against the wall. He hugged me. He didn't say a word and madly kissed me.

I bit down hard on his lip. The pain made him more alert.

"Is it wrong that I like you?"

Charles yelled at me. I looked at Charles, my laughter full of satire.

"Like me or like to go to bed with me?"

"Do you always think I'm such a lousy person?"

"Isn't it?"

Charles's bad boy nickname, whether in school or at work, is well known. He said he liked me, but that was just a lie.

Charles took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.

"I took you to the front of the dorm gate."

I didn't say a word and let him carry me away. My stomach churned with pain. I went to the front gate of the dorm, returned his coat, and walked in. I walked straight to my room without looking back.

I had some painkillers bought at the drug supermarket a few days ago. I drink a glass of water, cooked a bowl of noodles, ate my fill, and went to bed.

My condition worsened the next day. I took time off work to go straight to the hospital for a check-up. I am still good. I have no problem. Take the pill for a few days and it will go away.

Eira had moved out of the dorm, to her aunt's house. The dorm room was just me and Sarah. Sarah already has a boyfriend, she hangs out with you. After a day of studying and working, I was alone. Thinking of this I turned my head and walked straight out. I'll go find something to eat. Even though I'm alone, I want to have a good meal.

But I had just reached the dorm gate I met Charles. He saw me and was a little panicked and wanted to run away. These days, I feel someone is watching me. Is it him? What does he follow me to do?

I walk up to him, and Charles looks at me with a wry smile.

"What have you been following me for these days?"

"I'm… worried about you."

"As long as you stay away from me, I'm safe."

I walked along the main road. Since last time, I didn't dare to go into the empty alleys anymore. Charles was still walking some distance behind me.

Frustrated, I turned my head to look at him. Charles avoids my gaze but follows me firmly.

“Would you like to have a few beers with me?”

I took the initiative to invite him, and Charles happily accepted.
