Olive's POV

Mother's hand on my shoulder was the only thing keeping me from falling apart. While the men and women partied into the night, I was freezing on the inside, dying for Orvyn's warmth. Princess Adelaide's moans flitting into my ears was upsetting my wolf. She snarled restively, and scolded me for giving up our mate like a cheap commodity.

Queen Latifah resonated well with my predicament. For a whore who fought her way to the top, debarring all odds, she understood the pain that came with the separation from one's mate. My father might not have been the most faithful companion, a break in the mate bond came second after labour pains.
