Chapter Twenty.

Mirah

His anger from earlier on hadn't simmered down. From the corner of my eye, I saw his hold on the steering wheel tighten.

“Please, Mirah,” He begged in a voice that was a far-cry from the Zeke I knew. For a moment my heart went out to him.

But the image of him holding Darcel, flashed through my mind.

“I don't want to exchange words with you, Prince Ezekiel. If you can't drive, we can switch places.” I avoided his gaze.

A look at him would be all it'd take to crash the fragile front I was putting on. The calm voice I was using to speak. My rein on my emotions.

Everything.

If I hadn't realized it before, I did now. This man had hurt me. Made me cry.

But Lord help me, because I knew I loved him. Because I knew despite my cold attitude, if he sincerely apologized, I was willing to overlook the fact that he had a fiancèe.

That realization alone, sent chills down my spine.
