Two figures stood outside my door. They looked in when they heard me move. Thank the goddess, it was Lucas and Nate. These two were the only ones that Isaac trusted with no doubt to guard me.

“Boss, thank goddess you're awake.” Nate linked me, they went to stand back at the door.

“How long have I been out? And I am guessing whatever is happening is bad if you two are here?”

“Yeah boss, Josie saved your life, but she is gone now.” The sadness in his voice was obvious even to me, but I was filled with just as much sadness, if not more.
