Chapter five

Olivia pov

One more month elapsed, and the situation between Jack and I worsened. He no longer dedicated time to me and somehow seemed to have magically vacated our shared bedroom.

I had foreseen it all, but it still troubled me.

He brought her to social gatherings he attended and instructed me to watch over the pack. I was preparing to leave, so I continued to reassure myself that it would only be a bit longer.

I randomly looked at my neck where his mark was and wished I could remove it. I disliked seeing it so much that I always covered it up. I had run out of tears. Some fellow lunas extended their support, while others congratulated me.

Monica wasn't crowned Luna yet and I knew the reason

Monica was a medical Nurse, and she lacked combat training. If she were named Luna, she'd have to take over all my duties, including leading in battles. Perhaps her life was too valuable for that. I had plans to surprise Jack soon.

I sat in my office when Jack burst in, and began to shout at me. He acted like a lunatic. He had never spoken to me in such a way before. There were people around, so we had to step aside, but he had already humiliated me.

"What's wrong?"

"Why did you dispatch men after Monica?" He asked, and I made a long face.

"Answer me!" he shouted, and I remained silent.

"I never sent anyone after Monica," I said, and he lifted his hand as if to hit me but halted, staring at his hand in disbelief.

He met my eyes with teary ones. He was embarrassed by his actions.

"I've got a man in the cell who claimed you sent him to harm Monica. Why would you do that?

It's not our fault that we're destined this way. It's not my fault, Olivis. Why couldn't you just make it easier for all of us?" He said, and tears formed in his eyes. He seated on the office desk, covered his face and cried.

His words wounded me, not due to the accusation, but because he claimed it wasn't his responsibility to have met his Fated mate. I grabbed a chair and looked at him insensibly.

"I've simplified things to make it easy, Jack," I responded.

"When was the last time you spoke to me affectionately? When was our last social outing together aside from security meetings? When did you last spend time with me as your spouse? When was our last night in the same bed? When was the last time we had sex?" I asked, and he looked up at me with puffy eyes. I was aware he was torn, but I was the one in pain.

"We've hardly exchanged words for some weeks now, and you burst into my office to charge me with sending thugs after your partner. You didn't even make an effort to find out or conduct an investigation," I said, and his face looked remorseful.

"You claimed a detainee in custody said that I sent him to kill Monica. What evidence does he possess?" I asked Jack, and he was rendered speechless.

"Nevertheless. I didn't commit this crime. Someone is attempting to set me up, and you should know I wouldn't do such a thing and if I do, I won't fail, I said. "Is that why you planned to find a house without informing me? I've discovered all your demands to neighboring Alphas, seeking them to permit you to acquire land within their territory.

Did you assume I wouldn't come to know about it?" He asked, sounding wounded, and I was stunned.

"I'm certain Monica will appreciate the space. There will be no need for her to moan more than necessary when you two are fucking," I said, and he remained quiet.

"You are my spouse and the pack's Luna. Leaving is not an option," he said,

Acting the role of a victim.

"I've cautioned all the Alphas that if they offer you a house, they'll have to deal with me. Despite having a Fated mate, you're still my wife, and I won't release you.

I'd rather perish than let you go, Olivia," he said with determination and as a promise.

There was a time when his words would have an impact in my heart, but that was all gone since we welcomed his Fated mate into our home.

"You should release me, Jack, because my feelings have changed," I said, and

my words inflicted pain on him.

"We'll discuss this further when we get home. I apologize for intruding into your office, and I regret listening to the prisoner's claims without conducting an investigation. There's a dinner scheduled for tomorrow night, and I'd like you to join me. I want everyone to be aware that you're still my spouse, and I

cherish you very much," he said.

I chuckled because I intended to attend anyway. Ava had sent an invitation and promised to introduce me to some new friends and men . We were both facing similar circumstances, nevertheless that wasn't a reason to handle it in the same manner.

"We would see at home," he said and left. I reached home, and Monica sat weeping on the couch. I acted like she didn't exist and went to my bedroom. It belonged to both Jack and me, although he no longer slept there.

I was stunned, I found him inside the room. I didn't bother to ask him about Monica's situation; instead, I went straight to the wardrobe to undress and prepare for a shower.

Upon entering the bathroom, I locked the door behind me. I had no intention of him entering or approaching me. I heard him attempting to turn the doorknob, and I couldn't help but smile. It occurred to me that he must have informed Monica that he would be spending the night in my room, which likely wounded her feelings.

There was no way he was simply doing this to make me happy; I was aware he desired something from me. I neglected him.

I took my bath then got dressed in the bathroom and ensured that the nightdress I wore was nice and revealing my thighs.

I had updated my wardrobe to add more seductive cloths, and now I also had makeup. I left the bathroom and took a seat at the dressing table.

"Since when did you begin locking the restroom door?" he asked, sitting at the end of the bed.

"Since when an outsider moved into our home, you gradually left our room," I responded, my tone sounding uninterested. "This remains our room, Jack, and you remain my spouse. I'm new to this situation; I'm making an effort," he said, his words echoed repeatedly, and i breathed out. "Certainly," I replied, and smiled, and he smiled. He approached me and kissed his mark on my neck. "Don't push it, Jack. Your heart isn't truly in it," I said, and he sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

"You've become so distant. I wanna taste you," he said, then kissed his mark on my neck once more, and I began to feel him, licking my lips. "You don't need to make physical contact just because I stated my complaint," I told him, and he continued to suck his mark. "I observed you've upgraded your closet," he playfully said, but I didn't give in to him emotionally. "I didn't keep you in mind," I replied, still emotionally distant. Eventually, he relented. "Please, let's try to make this relationship work. I don't want us to end up like James and John," he said, and I chuckled. "Perhaps I'll cross paths with my fated mate as well, and we can have sex in the open space," I said, and he made a long face.

"You can't bear me being intimate with another person; why should I?" I asked and pointed out the self-centeredness of the situation, and he distanced himself from me. "What's on your mind?" I asked, aware that he had come to my room with a purpose. "Regarding Alpha James upcoming dinner. Would you be willing to skip it? I initially invited you, but Monica wanted to attend," he said, and I chuckled.

"I didn't plan on skipping it, Jack. The enjoyment isn't particularly for you and your partner. I have my invitation from Luna Ava, and I intend to honor it," I told him, and his face looked furious. "That's precisely why I reconsidered taking you there, because I don't want you mingling with that Harlot. She has publicly humiliated her husband on numerous occasions and has a drinking issue as well. It's unfortunate that rejecting her would weaken James; I'm certain he would have done it without hesitation," he said, and I chuckled.

"Indeed, he probably would have, just as you would have. As I have seen, both of you taking a similar stance must have influenced your beliefs. He wished for her to be unhappy, and she decided to take action. There's nothing Inappropriate about that. Sadly, we're unable to go our separate ways, so Ava seeks love and affection in the most suitable manner available to her. Please refrain from insulting her," I spoke up, defending Ava. He appeared confused.

"Don't tell me you're going to be like her, Olivia. I won't share you," he said, and I chuckled.

"Yet I must," I said, pointing-out the foolishness and self-centeredness of his words. I put on my nightgown and headed to bed.

"Tell your mate she doesn't need to cry like a baby, that she'll be attending the dinner party with you, and you don't have to sleep with me as compensation," I said, sliding under the duvet.

He didn't move, deep in thought. "You can use the door", I said

"Please get out of my room, Jack," I ordered. I noticed he was extremely horny, I knew he wanted me so bad, but I didn't give a damn.

"Olivia," He said, but I shook my head.

"Would you want me to touch you if I ever have sex with someone else?" I asked, and he remained silent.

"Don't expect me to do so either," I added, and then I clapped to turn off the lights.

The day of the event arrived, and they left before me. I overheard Jack commanding the Escorts not to drive me to the venue.

He didn't want me to attend, but fortunately, Emily had decided to visit our pack and pick me up on her way to the event. Ava and Emily were aware of my situation and always offered their support.

I wore a blue dress with an open back that showcased my hips, curves and thighs. The makeup artist did an exceptional job.

I didn't realize how beautiful I was until she applied make-ups. During the years I spent with Jack, he discouraged me from putting on makeup, bikini and short revealing dress. Now, I understood why. I looked stunning.

Spending time with him since I was sixteen allowed him to intrude my mind and negatively influence my self-worth. However, those days were over. I was resolute in exposing myself to new experiences and, perhaps, Find my Fated mate in the future.

"Someone is all dressed up to impress," Luna Emily said, and I smiled. She picked me, with her Mercedes Benz.

"I have to admit, you're managing this Monica mess quite peacefully. They might have let Jack move on if she weren't an Alpha's daughter," she said, sounding frustrated, and I chuckled. "I don't think Jack could've forgotten her. He attempted to resist, but the attraction was overwhelming," I said, exhaling deeply. She pinched me. "Well, at least he put in some effort. Mine didn't. He claimed and had sex with her right away," she said, with a smile.

"Let's toast to being on the unfortunate side of fate," she said, sipped our shots, and we both laughed. As we entered the ball, the room became silent, with everyone looking at us in amazement. I overheard hushed conversations, and it seemed the attention was all directed at me. Luna Emily and I proceeded, and then Ava, clearly intoxicated as usual, greeted us with a hug. She guided me to a table where her international visitors were seated.

I introduced myself, and they were dumbfounded at first because they knew Jack had brought another woman and introduced her as the leader of the Silvermoon Pack. Luna Ava was the first to correct it, saying, "Oh no, that's his harlot, and this is his spouse. It seems fate has a way of messing up pleasant things." She finished her drink. The event passed slowly, and I didn't look for Jack and Monica in the crowd.

He attempted to connect with me multiple times, but I blocked it. I was enjoying myself, and the gentlemen were lavishing me with plenty of attention. I was so in the midst of it when a guy approached my table. He was a good-looking, blond-haired man with black eyes, robust and Bold. He didn't appear to be a local guy, so I greeted him with a smile. "Don't even think about it, Olivia," I heard Jack's envious voice.

"Keep your eyes on me," I responded with a smile to the stranger.

"Greetings, I am Alpha Alexander from the Evergreen Pack; I would appreciate a dance if

it's okay with you," he said, and I frowned.

He hailed from a different area. Why was he present here?
