Chapter one

Olivia POV

I could not forget the night my heavenly sweet life turned upside down. The very instant, that my life changed, I and my husband, Jack, were present at the party, I did not plan on being present at the party but Jack friend and his Beta was the anchor so Jack wanted to honour his invite regardless of the consequences

I should have implored him to remain at home, but I aimed to be a

supportive spouse, so I accompanied him, which turned out to be my gravest blunder.

Jack Tristan was my spouse and the leader of the Silvermoon moon pack,

making me Olivia Tristan, the pack's Luna.

Jack picked me at the age of nineteen to be his Luna.

We commenced dating when I was sixteen, and he was twenty years. He refrained from physical contact with me as I wasn't yet of legal age, but we still developed deep affection for each other and made a commitment to stay united.

Numerous women within the pack harbored resentment toward me since Jack exclusively focused on me. I wasn't the most attractive. In reality, I wasn't nearly as attractive as the others, but he noticed me, and he adored me.

He adored my verdant eyes. Jack referred to me as his emerald monarch, and that bolstered my self-assurance. He never desired me to attire seductively or use cosmetics, and I simply complied.

Jac proclaimed me as his own in the year he assumed the role of the pack's alpha. His parents had chosen to vacate the position for him and embark on a journey, which was the customary practice for all alphas once they passed it on to their successors.

I proudly put on my Luna footwear and fulfilled my responsibilities. As a proficient warrior, the pack could always rely on capable hands when jack departed our domain on assignments.

We had enjoyed a contented marriage for five years. I had now reached the age of twenty-three, whereas jack was twenty-six.

I adored him very much, and his affection for me was undeniable. There was no doubt. Nothing and no one could ever intrude upon our connection, or so I believed, until a dinner gathering when my world was upended. We were seated at a table exclusively set for us when Jack shifted his look and noticed her. She had a lengthy, ebony curly hair, azure eyes, luscious crimson lips, gorgeous sun-kissed complexion, and an hourglass figure. Flawless proportions in contrast to my pear-shaped physique.

"Jack, Jack," I softly addressed my partner, yet he remained unresponsive. His gaze remained locked on her. The stunning lady in the midnight red velvet attire. I delicately grazed his hand, and he quivered slightly as if in a daze.

"Olivia," he said, striving to soothe himself, and I smiled at him.

"Let's head back home, my love; I'm not feeling well," I fabricated, attempting to make him leave the place with me, but his gaze had once again drifted towards her, and she was currently fixing her gaze upon him.

She also appeared captivated by his stare, and they seemed engrossed in each other's gaze. I couldn't pinpoint the moment my heart started to race.

I didn't want to accept it, but I comprehended what had transpired. Jack had just discovered his fated mate, and she wasn't me.

"Jack, come home with me," I said, sounding worried and a bit firm. I couldn't hide my fear.

At that moment, Jack's closest friend and beta, Bruce, approached us. He played the role of the host for the evening.

"Alpha Jack, I trust both you and Luna Olivia are having a pleasant time?" He inquired, and I discreetly tugged Jack's hand to divert his attention from the person he was gazing at.

"Bruce," Jack said, staring at his friend.

"Who's that lady?" Jack asked, sounding interested.

Bruce turned to me, as Jack's question was rude and disrespectful.

I gulped nervously and turned away. I wasn't sure how to respond . Jack hadn't done anything yet, but I was sure he would.

"She's Alpha Henry's daughter from the Shadow pack. She recently came back after studying abroad. Her name's Monica Johnson," Bruce mentioned, "Wow" Jack said, murmuring her name to himself.

Bruce's face appeared unease and chose to take his leave. I offered a smile and allowed him to depart.

I stayed quiet and didn't alter a word. There was no need for words. I simply had to await the unfolding events.

I had my doubts whether Jack would discard the five years we'd spent together, and, in addition, we had officially marked each other. Whether it was destiny or not, we were inseparable mates. Turning me away and breaking our bond would diminish his wolf's strength, so I was confident he wouldn't want that.

I also understood that he wouldn't reject her for the same thing. Every alpha cherished their power and frightened by things that can make them weak. If he were just an average pack member, I might have possessed the authority and entitlement to decline him and depart, but he held the position of alpha.

I sipped my drink and acted like it made no difference to me.

"Pardon me, Olivia," Jack said, rising from his seat, and I didn't bother to ask about his destination. I was aware he was heading to converse with her. I observed her strolling to the balcony, and he trailed after her.

I felt the need to follow Jack to eavesdrop on their discussion, but tears were already flowing down my cheeks. I was too apprehensive to learn the nature of his conversation with the woman. So, I remained in my position, sipping a drink.

Jack didn't come back to join me. I was alone for an hour, so I took my leave.

Using the car wasn't a possibility. Scarlett, my inner wolf, was distressed, so once I had walked a few meters, I transformed and ran home.

"What should we do, Olivia? He belongs to us. He claimed us and we did the same," My wolf lamented, and I was short of words because I was in just as Agony.

The distress was overwhelming, and I couldn't come to terms with what had happened. I wasn't ready for this, because he had made assurances.

He promised me, but still deceived me.

Flashbacks of the two of them replayed in my thoughts, and I wept. I wept non-stop and howled. Going back home was the last thing I desired.

I hoped in some way I'd cross paths with my fated as well, and he'd alleviate the suffering, but I understood it was unlikely. I was bound to jack, and he was bound to me until he chose otherwise, something I believed he wouldn't do.

I knew Jack would not allow me to go, because I stabilized his power. Judging by Monica's appearance, she might not fit the role of Luna, but she was a stunning and well-educated Alpha's daughter. Perhaps even an Alpha lineage herself. In contrast to my delta genetics, she was top-tier. I understood I had no opportunity. Jack would insist on me sharing, just as other alphas in his position often did.

I and Jack had developed the pack together and extended our territories, battling alongside each other for five years at this point. If he opts to discard me in her favor, I will depart with nothing since I didn't possess alpha status.

I wasn't sure how it would unfold, but I could feel it wouldn't end well.

As we ran, Scarlett and I felt an intense ache in our hearts, and there was no need to think about what was transpiring.

Jack and I were connected through our marking, so I would feel the suffering whenever he was intimately connected with someone.

I had witnessed women with unfaithful partners undergo this ordeal; I had guided them in my role as their Luna. Who will guide me through this and assist me in enduring it? I lacked relatives. I had no genuine person to talk to. Jack was my sole true companion. How will I cope?

"Fuck you, Jack, Fuck you!" I said in tears.

Why did destiny have to assign us such a wretched hand?

I fled into the dense forest, shedding tears. I lingered there for a time before eventually returning home.

I arrived back at our residence fully naked, and Jack sat on the sofa with a beverage on his table; he stared at me, aware that I was aware.

"Olivia," he uttered, and I nodded negatively, furiously.

"How could you, Jack? You vowed. You stated that if this situation arose, you'd refuse her. You told me I was okay for you. You gave me your word," I expressed.

This was the reason I dedicated myself to warrior training and stood beside him in combat. If his wolf faltered, I would stabilize his power.

He remained mute. There was no explanation he could provide to vindicate himself.

I departed, leaving him in the living room, and took a shower.

I was in the shower for more than an half an hour, staying there until the water turned frigid before I went to bed.

Throughout the night, I felt restless. I couldn't make a decision. There was no possibility for rejection. Our fates were intertwined.

I couldn't merely abandon everything I had invested time, effort, and dedication into building over five years.

Our combined efforts made us the top in our region. How could I forsake that? Even if I resolved to start afresh, no pack would welcome me if I severed ties with him. I was trapped. I had no alternative but to make this relationship work, but how could I, when he displayed no effort whatsoever?

"Olivia," Jack said and sat beside me in bed.

"I apologize,Olivia . I truly do, but I'll want some days to make a decision," he said. His words wounded me emotionally that if I had the means, I might have thrust a silver blade into his heart.

"Days?" I exclaimed, rising from my position. "How dare you request days, Jack? You pledged. You took me as your own. What on earth do you expect me to do? You're aware I can't depart, I can't align with another pack, and nobody would accept a wolf already marked and bonded. What about me, Jack? What becomes of my life, my affection, and my joy? Where does that leave me? Where?" I shouted at him, teetering on the brink of tears.

He rose and attempted to embrace me, but I stopped him. I was furious and repulsed. I wasn't happy.

"I need just a few days; you are my spouse and Luna. Nothing can alter that, not even a destined mate. Please, I am just requesting for some days, to make a decision.

Her attraction is powerful. I considered rejecting her, Olivia, but my yearning for her overpowered me, you won't understand Olivia.

"And what am I to do when you are fucking her?" I asked Jack, my voice sounded harsh and mad.

"I won't do that," he responded, and I let out a bitter laugh.

"You did already. You did. You were intimate with her tonight, and I sensed every part of it," I stated, and he fell silent. I didn't require a

seer to predict how this would unfold. It was evident that I was on the losing side of this situation.
