Elsa's POV

"You're kidding, right?' Melissa asked, getting up to her feet but my mother said nothing to her. She just kept staring at her as she alternated her gaze between her husband and my mother.

"Take that back, this minute!" She yelled. "There's no way that Duncan, the Alpha of the Runway Pack could have birthed this… this–"

"Slave?" I asked, knowing that it was exactly what she had in mind. She probably didn't say it because my husband had warned her not to.

"It is the truth," my mother insisted and to be honest, I found it hard to believe her too.

"Why didn't you say something about it since then?" I asked, unable to hold the question back anymore even though I had planned to.
