Battle over

WINTER POV

I clutched my dagger tightly, eyes narrowing as I scanned the room filled with hunters. The battle raged on around me while my heart pounded in my chest, fearing the possibility of us being defeated. Despite my pack mates fighting bravely, it was clear we were outnumbered.

As I glanced around the room, I noticed Kendall and Slade had managed to eliminate the hunters on the north side of the hall. Though I tried to focus on the battle, my eyes occasionally flickered towards Kendall. We had never gotten along, and his sudden aid to Slade was suspicious. He didn't even bat an eye when he helped us, leaving me wondering if he had a motive for his actions. Despite him saying he owed me, I still wanted to know more.

My attention shifted back to Slade as he groaned, gripping his injured shoulder. I moved towards him, ready to help, but he shrugged me off.
