MAEVE’S POV

Billy was silent for a while after I asked him how they survived.

We just kept walking without having a clue of where he was taking me.

“Magic of illusion and the sacrifice Lilian’s mom made for our pack. That is how we survived,” Billy finally answered me with a downcast look on his face.

This was indeed a very sour topic for him. I didn’t want to ask him any other questions.

I wanted the conversation about their survival to end.

But there were still many things I was curious about and that curiosity got the best of me.

“What sacrifice did Lilian’s mom make?” I asked him.

“She single-handedly and continuously did the spell which made all the 11 packs think that we were right in front of them when in reality we had moved here to hide.
