Chapter 28

Aria's POV...

My lashes flapped slowly, my entire body disinterested in training. I decided it was about time I got back to my feet and not let myself be swayed by the situation I was in. Coming out to train implies seeing Barrin, which I was undoubtedly ready for. 

To my surprise, every trainee had gathered, but the trainer was nowhere to be found. The most annoying of it all is every one of the trainees trying to show off everything they have learned. It would be nice if they all took a break without twisting an ankle. It would be fun to watch. 

Every now and then, my mind is filled with evil thoughts, and I can't seem to help it. It's the only way to keep me sane in this insane world where I have found myself. Sitting on the grass while resting on my arm, I huffed. Doing ten laps around the field isn't exactly as easy as it looked. 

"You need company." A singsong voice mused next to me. 

I opened my eyes to meet a green-eyed
