Aria's POV...

Raven wasn't joking when she said her family wasn't all that; it felt like the home was devoid of people. No warmth or affection; everyone seems to have their nose up in the air. They didn't even pretend to be sweet towards each other in front of me, considering I was a guest. We had no choice but to head out of the house for some nice non-suffocating fresh air. My adoptive family weren't this bad; for the first time since I made friends with Raven, I noticed the sadness in her eyes.

"I have been a bad friend, I see," I muttered, playing with my ordered drink. We settled for an open restaurant ten minutes away from her home.

Raven stopped halfway through her drink, "what do you mean?"

"Your family. I see why you enjoy being at the training ground so bad. And your brother looks a bit familiar."

She scoffed, "That's because you must have seen him on the training ground most times."
