Aria's POV...
My emotion was everywhere. I didn't know exactly how to feel about losing my unborn child or the glaring truth that I would always have to pick my pieces myself. There was no need for me to get carried away with anything or anyone. I had left Kyle's study feeling victorious at the sad look in his eyes.
But I think it was all about me in the end; it won't take him long to move on from the pain. And from the look of things, we will never get close to each other again. Knowing Kyle, Barrin will always come first before any other person.
Raven had left a note for me by the time I returned to the room. It was a sweet gesture, scribbling down her concerns hurriedly on the paper while pleading with me to take some rest. I had curled up in bed, crying my eyes out. And when morning came, I could feel it deep within me that something had changed.
I decided never to let anyone toss me around again for the umpteenth time. I always seem to forget the pro
Kyle's POV...My eyes fluttered, adjusting to the bright morning sun through the window. I sat up, rubbing my eyes; the room looked unfamiliar. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was. Memories of yesterday flashed in my head. I had reconciled with Barrin and got drunk to my heart's content before falling asleep. It felt odd, though; I have never slept outside the packhouse for personal reasons. It always has to do with the pack's progress. An ache danced in my head as I pulled the duvet off me. The other side of the bed was dead cold. Barrin must have gotten up quite early. I made my way downstairs and found him sitting in the kitchen, stirring his coffee. The other house members bowed hurriedly to me and scampered off. Sometimes I really don't like how the pack members look scared when they come across me. I want to believe I am quite the lenient type of Alpha. But then, what do I know? Seeing we were alone, I wrapped my arms around the love of my life, i
Aria's POV..."You shouldn't be here." Raven attacked me the moment I stood in front of her on the training field.I shrugged nonchalantly, "why not?""You still look a bit pale." She replied."Now, pale is a good thing. As long as I don't look like someone who would pass out if pushed, then it's fine by me.""Why are you so hellbent on pushing yourself this hard?""It's the only thing I have to hold on to right now. Nothing else.""Is there any way I can help?""Yes, by being a good sparring partner. Because I am not going to take it easy on you." I told her with a wide grin."We will see about that. Bring your game on." She chuckled.I sat next to her, inhaling the morning air; there was no way I would have remained in that room and not lost my sanity. Resting for five days straight should be enough to heal from whatever had me on the hook. Just as I promised myself, I have avoided seeing Kyle and his lover Barrin. With Ella's he
Kyle's POV...Barrin had his head on my leg as we sat on the couch in the study room, listening to each other's breath. I caressed his hair, humming to myself. We have been spending more time with each other, but it doesn't feel the same. Although it's our own way of healing and forgiving ourselves, I am just glad that Barrin is no longer pissed at me.It's been over a week since Aria was discharged from the hospital. I also haven't seen her since then; it's almost as if she doesn't live in the packhouse anymore. But I know she is still very much around due to her scent. On the other hand, she keeps her promise of staying away as much as she can. Not that it bothers me, I don't know why I keep thinking about her."I think it's time," Barrin said out of nowhere, bringing me out of my reverie.I blinked, clearing my throat. "time for what?"He sat up, holding my gaze. "We should talk to Aria now about our decision on her carrying your child. Prolonging it wi
Aria's POV...Kyle ought to rot in whatever place that gorges out people's souls. He has no conscience and thinks he is better than everyone else. From the look of things, Barrin is a better person than he is. He dared to look me in the eyes like he did nothing wrong. Rage enveloped me as I trumped the entire room. Fate sure doesn't have much like for me, considering how it has me subdued to manipulative people like Kyle.My fickle mind still can't seem to forget how good his dick was, and I end up touching myself and moaning out his name till I reach orgasm. It's a shameful trait, but I won't deny enjoying it. If only things were not this complicated. Probably, the truth that lies here is that Kyle isn't good for me, and I needed to learn that here and now. Still, it's so annoying.Groaning, I threw myself into the bed before standing up hurriedly again. I remember now that Ella hasn't been active lately like she is having a bad time. Checking the time, I still have some hours to spa
Aria's POV..."Noel!""Noel!"I screamed at the top of my lungs to just hear her respond to me, but nothing came. And just like she showed up, she faded right before me. My eyes flashed open, and I was panting heavily. Devon was next to me, patting my back."What happened?" He asked.I huffed, "I saw her. I just saw my wolf, but she didn't respond to me. I saw her." I wailed, feeling the tears roll down my face uncontrollably. It's been so long since I felt so close to her that I almost didn't realize how much she was a part of me. That was part of my being, and it has been lost for so long."Calm down, Aria. You don't have to pressure yourself just yet. I called you here not because I expect you to connect to your wolf today. Try to understand that you are just beginning to get your wolf and body back due to the rejections. But it won't come easy like that. Since you saw her, it means she is almost reaching her full potential within you. We should be e
Kyle's POV... I must admit Aria's wolf is a strong contender; the movement of her limbs is so swift one would doubt that she was once weak. I had heard from Devon, who had unintentionally mentioned her wolf's return. It makes me wonder how she achieved such a feat quickly. I feel it is due to the multiple rejections she was subjected to from Barrin and me. Her glow is different, and now that I know where that stems from, it makes a part of me crave her.The thought of having sex with the real Aria and her wolf, just envisioning it, makes me feel hot. My eyes lingered on her sexy body as I stood by the hallway window that oversees the training field. This has been my spot for some days now since I never get to see her whenever I wish. I find my way here to have a good look at her; I don't know why I am doing this, but it feels fulfilling. It can't be considered cheating as well; I am only just looking.Even though I aim to please Barrin, my mind can't let go of Aria's image. She is th
Aria's POV...I scoffed in irritation, pulling at my training shoes, almost yanking off my feet along with it. Those two shameless brats! Couldn't they have found somewhere else to display their rubbish?"Why are you angry all of a sudden?" Raven asked, looking up from the book she was reading.Sighing, I leaned back into the chair. "I just bumped into something that I shouldn't have witnessed.""Was it while you went to pick up your water bottle?""Yes. I saw Kyle and Barrin making out. The shameless lot." I had forgotten my water bottle when Raven and I came upstairs. On my way back, I decided to take the other stairs that seemed like a shortcut to reach my room. And right there, I saw them hanging onto each other as if their lives depended on it. I don't like those two.Raven burst into a giggle, "Are you jealous right now?""What are you talking about?" I glared at her."Your cheeks are all red. Was it that annoying to see?"I huffed, "I despise seeing the two of them look so happ
Author's POV...Breona laid on her back, groaning weakly; she looked lifeless on the bed, her skin pale and peeling off. Marie scoffed as she poured down the remaining rum in the glass down her throat."Of what use was everything? How exactly did she lose her wolf?" She directed the question at no one in particular.Rob exhaled, "This wouldn't be happening if Aria had been poisoned to death instead. How did you think she was able to escape that day?""I have no idea. If I get my hands on that wretch, I will gorge out every of her intestine." Marie swore. They both stayed quiet at Breona's groan again; everything had been going smoothly, and their daughter was preparing to get married to the love of her life, Alpha Wade. Suddenly, just a day to the intended day, she fell unconscious, and the wolf she carried began to weaken inside her. They really can't tell what exactly went wrong yet and had to call to consult the one who carried out the ritual."Shoul
