Chapter 58

Kyle's POV...

Barrin had his head on my leg as we sat on the couch in the study room, listening to each other's breath. I caressed his hair, humming to myself. We have been spending more time with each other, but it doesn't feel the same. Although it's our own way of healing and forgiving ourselves, I am just glad that Barrin is no longer pissed at me.

It's been over a week since Aria was discharged from the hospital. I also haven't seen her since then; it's almost as if she doesn't live in the packhouse anymore. But I know she is still very much around due to her scent. On the other hand, she keeps her promise of staying away as much as she can. Not that it bothers me, I don't know why I keep thinking about her.
