CHAPTER THIRTY - INSTINCT AND DOMINANCE

I woke up with my body and neck still sore. I looked around slowly and my hope faded again.

I realized that I was in the same cold place and not on that soft and comfortable mattress, lying next to my partner. It hadn't just been a nightmare. The cement was freezing under me, but at least the railings weren't silver. I could lean against the corner of the cell and cringe. However, they were just as firm and untouchable. I'd already tried breaking in, bending, hitting and kicking. They didn't even creak.

There was no noise from inside or outside other than the sharp wind that slithered through the gap in the window next to the cell. I sat up feeling my skin crawl with cold. It felt like dawn or morning, but it was too dark in here to be sure. The weather might just be bad enough outside.

My stomach shuddered with hunger and I had a huge urge to pee.

I leaned my head against the railing and sighed.

"It's going to be alright..." I whispered to myself, to my wolf and to my possible
