Chapter fifteen

It's been a month since we moved into our new home. It's been as long since I passed my detective's exam and joining the homicide squad. I told my captain before I took the exam that Abbigail I were getting married in August and that I was taking her to Ireland for our honeymoon.

I was at my first scene, wearing a new suit and a bulletproof vest. It was a body dump on the edge of private property. The property owner has motion detectors around his property and said it was triggered early this morning. Thinking it was a bunch of kids messing around, he came to give them a warning when he found the body.

I knew right away that the murder didn't take place here. The body had been wrapped in plastic with duct tape holding it in place. Blood pooled in the plastic so we had to be careful not to lose any of it for evidence.

As soon as the face was revealed, I had to fight tears from falling. It was a young girl, couldn't be more then sixteen years old. Her face was riddled with bruise
