The pleasure is all mine

I blinked my eyes open, trying to adjust them to the light. I stretched and pushed myself up into a sitting position, taking in my surroundings.

I leaned my head on the headboard and closed my eyes momentarily. "Hah." I sighed, opening my eyes.

I was still drowsy and tired from yesterday's work –the running here and there, all to make sure that my client was okay. I shook my head, climbed out of my bed and trudged into the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, brushed my teeth and exited the room.

As I descended the stairs, I heard faint murmurings and as I drew closer, it became clear.

"He deserved it." Dad's voice rang. "He did."

"That's not fair." Krystal said. "He was just merely defending himself."

An argument. What could be the cause?

"He should be lucky that he got a yellow card." Rosa scoffed. "He deserved more."

I came down and saw the cause of the argument –a football game.

I rolled my eyes, shaking my head. I never knew I had sports analysts in this house.
