Tom and I parted ways at the entrance and as he made his way up the stairs towards where her brother would be training, I turned left towards the kitchens, hoping to catch up with some of the girls that I used to get on well with.

I hadn’t gone too far down the corridor when three figures turned the corner in front of me and stopped dead in their tracks as soon as they saw me.

My heart sank as their incredulous gasps turned into sneers and they stalked towards me like predators hunting their first kill of the day.
